Three Cape Ladies Red Blend 2016

91pts
Originally launched in 1997 by First Lady Norma Ratcliffe, Three Cape Ladies blends rich Pinotage, spicy Syrah and classic Cabernet Sauvignon to form the quintessential ‘Cape Blend’ – a truly South African experience. This wine has gone on to achieve international recognition, even proving worthy of 007 in the novel Carte Blanche. Created from grapes harvested from four distinct Estate vineyards, this Bordeaux style blend has aromas of cassis, black plum and spices. Awarded 91 Points by Wine Spectator, 90 Points by Wine Advocate and 91 Points by Tim Atkin.

TASTING NOTES

Very approachable, drink ready wine. Mulberry, red and black cherry, cranberry, dried organum, cigar box aromas on the nose with a well-integrated palate and smooth tannins.

WINEMAKER NOTES

This estate blend from four distinct established vineyards on Warwick has always been a wine that oered earlier accessibility than the structured Warwick Estate Trilogy. Our Three Cape Ladies spends 18 months in French oak and at least 12 months in bottle before release. The wine tells the story of Stellenbosch in its characteristics and expresses the structure and power that one expects from the home of Cabernet Sauvignon in South Africa. Voted as one of the Top 100 Wines in the World by the Wine Spectator, Three Cape Ladies consistently receives scores above 90 points from all the top international publications. Warwick Three Cape Ladies was acknowledged by James Bond in the latest 007 adventure ‘Carte Blanche’ and has proved itself to be a worthy adversary over multiple decades.
